Our worries about how the Eagles would recover from losing their starting quarterback (Nick Foles), and their star defenseman (DeMeco Ryans) were put to rest as the Philadelphia Eagles crush the Carolina Panthers 45-21 on Monday Night Football. The Eagles fans were loud and thrilled in one of the more exciting blowout wins since, well, the Eagles took care of the Giants a few weeks ago. The new starting quarterback Mark Sanchez made his first start in over two years, and handily used his weapons in the win, throwing for over 300 yards and two touchdowns. Rookie wide receiver Jordan Matthews was the main target on the night, snagging both of Sanchez’s touchdown passes. On the other side of the ball, the re-adjusted Eagles Defense had a monster night, racking up nine (!) sacks and grabbing five turnovers, with a TD or two thrown in for good measure. That’s not all, as the Eagles Special Teams made yet another statement with Darren Sproles returning another punt for a touchdown. It was an amazing game, with numerous positives on the night. Is it a Sanchize? This week, though, the Eagles have a huge test ahead of them as they take on the Green Bay Packers on the road. It is never easy to play the Pack in Lambeau Field, and after Aaron Rodgers threw for six touchdowns this past week in the Packers’ vivisection of the Chicago Bears. This week will show many aspects of the Eagles character, preparation, coaching, and heart. — Pack in the comments: Voicemail Line: 1 (856) 335-3675 Twitter: @EaglesFanCast, Todd – @tradonks and Chuck – @chuckst Facebook: facebook.com/EaglesFanCast Google+: EaglesFanCast Email: fans [at] EaglesFanCast.net Support EFC – get our iPhone App, Android App or Windows 8 App |
